(Comparing & Contrasting)

a. In your answer to this question name ONE of the thinking skills from the Appendix.

Thinking skill I chose: Comparing & Contrasting

b. Answer the question showing appropriate evidence of the use of the chosen thinking skill.

“George, don’t do what I did.”

Why does Mr. Catanzara say this to George?

Answer: Mr. Catanzara sees himself as being very similar to George. He feels that he wasted his life as evident by the fact that he works as a change maker, despite the fact that he is a smart man. Similarly, George is wasting his life. He has dropped out of school, does not have a job and does nothing during the day. Mr. Catanzara does not want George to waste his life like he did and so he says “George, don’t do what I did.”
