How does George’s quest to feel respected by other people influence his decisions at the beginning of the story and at the end?

Answer: George’s need for respect resulted in my decision both at the beginning of the story and at the end. In the beginning, George makes many decisions on an impulse. For example, he drops out of school because the teachers don’t respect him. Then, he lies to Mr. Cattanzara in order to get him to respect him. At the end of the story, George decides to go to the library to start to read books in order to learn to respect himself.
